Sign in to disble this ad
So this morning, I'm getting ready to take my kid to school. I pick up a hat, plop it on and what feels like liquid or something is tickling my hair...like there's a few drops of water trickling down or something. I take off the hat, brush it off and.. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!! It's a friggen garden spider!!! Big one too!! It plops right down at my feet.
No, I didnt take pics because I was too busy screaming like a 10 year old girl while running in place, slapping my head..

So you think that's it, right? Nooooo of course not. We're getting ready to walk out the door, I reach for his backpack....ANOTHER damn spider is sitting right on top of the strap, different kind this time, but still way too big!! I HATE EM!!!!!

I threw his backpack out the door then like stomped on the sumbiotch freak alien spider 30 times!!

make it go away!!!!

Oh and BTW, the first bastage that posts a close u pic of a spider in this thread.. I will find you...I will hunt you down and never stop like the terminator!!! Just dont!

not a fan of spiders here either. opened the cable box on the side of the house and out came a tarantula about half the size of the really big ones you see as pets. still way to large for me, and after freaking out i couldn't find it again. worst part? this was right outside my bedroom window, so for several nights i kept thinking there was a large tarantula hanging out about 2 feet away from my head at that same moment. sleep tight! i used to get chills seeing them in movies and in video games, but they don't bother me like that anymore. arachnaphobe? you betcha.

I wouldn't consider myself phobic but seeing some pics of aftermath of spider bites, I can't help but not take chances and just kill them all on sight, regardless of species. I get wolf spiders occasionally, and they're supposedly harmless and actually prey on other pests, but if I spot one it's not getting away from me.

a google image search for bird spider turned up less porn than I thought.
Not too sure what I'd do if I saw a bird spider in person though: bird spider

I'm not crazy about them but because they earn their keep I'd prefer to just let them be. However, my wife HATES them and if she sees one she doesn't stop shrieking until I can prove that it's dead. I have no choice but to kill it to make her stop. If I can't prove it, she threatens to put the house up for sale and move.

Yes, she actually says that. And since there's no way I can afford to move right now, calling her on that would be a very risky thing to do. So unfortunately that's a second capital offense for the unlucky spider.

By "wolf spider" do you mean those hairy little black biotches that like hop everywhere and turn around to look at you when you get close?>? eeeeeeeEEEEe
If so, I can absolutely confirm that they do bite because I got bit by one, no lie. Right on the damn thumb...(I was picking up a garden house and sorta semi-squished one between my thumb and the hose) it actually didn't hurt at the time, I didn't even know it bit me until later when my thumb got all swollen and hurt like hell for a day or two. Went away though, so I guess they're not too bad. Sucker didnt even give me any super powers either...useless

I was going to find a spiderpig picture, but stumbled upon this instead and found it too good not to post because of the similarities to Phalex and his corn fetish:

Have you ever had to manufacture a spider corpse because you couldnt find where the original spider went to?

Im with you. Spiders creep me the **** out. If I find one on me I generally freak out the way Relic described, swatting at the area and trying to make sure there are no more on me.
About two weeks ago I held a friends pet tarantula for the first time, and it wasnt so bad, but it was certainly relieving when he took it from me and put it back in its cage. To think, I may have needed to smash that thing if it tried anything funny...
