Does anyone here even eat at Arbys?

I was driving down "fast food row" in my town last night right around dinner time and feeling hungry. My wife was not home anyway, so I figured I'd have me some good 'ol American fast food.

I haven't eaten at an Arby's in over 20 years so I pull up to the drive through window to place an order. I look over the menu about 10 times, and there is just nothing that even looks appealing. I figure these pictures are the best possible presentation of the food too. So when the nice young lady asks me what I want to order, I say nothing and drive away.

I ended up going home and making some rice and beans.

There are a few tasty things at Arbys, at least when I used to eat meat. The regular roast beef sandwich is the way to go. Slap on some Arby-sauce, and maybe a little Horsey-sauce (if youre into that kind of thing) and feast away.

I haven't had Arby's in about five years because every time I do I get the runs.

You have to eat it really fast when you get it because every bite and every second it tastes worse.

Its so damn cheap though, they always have some stupid deal about 17 Arby's Melts for something like three dollars.

Arby's? Oh, hell no. When I eat fast food, it's generally Wendy's or Popeye's.

My friend use to work at Arbys, I got him working at a better place with better pay and less annoying customers.

The Arby's I go to uses real roast beef, real vegetables and fresh-baked bread from the grocery store that it shares space with during the winter due to shipping reasons.**

*It costs more to ship it than to buy from the grocery store.
** They also do this sometimes if a shipment is late or it is busy and they don't want to run out.

So is it Popeye's as in the sailor, or Popeyes as in your eyes pop when you eat the food?

I get it...Popeye was a sailor.......their food goes through me like a torpedo.

Sorry, stole that from Gaffigan. I couldn't resist.

Oof! I'm not sure of the origin, actually, Mike. But I like fried chicken now and again, and they're cheap enough that it's much more attractive to go there than make it at home.

I worked at one, tons of horror stories.

That being said, if it's deep-fried, sadly it's your safest bet.

The "beef" was appalling.

It's not even roast beef. it's a processed "loaf"...I'm with the dude that gets the runs when he eats it. In fact, same result with just about any fast food chain...it's so processed within an inch of its (former) life that it can't help but rip through my colon like a bullet train.

I recommend a French dip or one of their Italian subs. Good stuff.

You get the Great Canadian Sandwich with curly fries. That's all that's good to order. But when the Arby's moved out of the local food court to make room for a Taco Time, I did not complain. Taco Tuesdays = awesome. That said, I still usually get a sandwich from Quizno's and fries from NYF.

Taco Time in B.C.??? I love Taco Time. Senor Froggy is also good...at least better than Taco Bell.

Arby's used to be a lot better than it is now (I liked RAX back then too). The "RB" seemed to be of a higher quality back then. Now it's like particle board meat.

I have a bad track record with fast food mexican joints. Taco Time kinda sucks imo except for the mexi-fries AKA Tater Tots which you can get anywhere. Taco Del Mar is the way to go.
