Maybe. Things are getting ugly in Mexico and the US is one of the main reasons its gotten like that.

I'm as conservative as can be, but I really don't understand why it's illegal. I never have, nor would I ever use pot. But it doesn't seem any worse than alcohol (take into consideration my non-usage comment). I would rather be driving on the road with someone who had smoked pot than someone who was a drinking. In my opinion, the government should legalize it and use that tax money to start paying down our massive debt.

Come to Quebec friends, it's this way too.

Actually, personal use is legal, but buying it is illegal. Go figure.

Good to hear. I'm a strong supporter of decriminalising Marijuana. Using hemp for various products should also be getting a lot more attention than it is.

I think it's wrong to ban a plant. Like the lawmakers saying," You can no longer eat broccoli." I like broccoli, and will continue to use it both as a food, and a euphemism.

Well that's a pretty inaccurate comparison. Broccoli isn't an intoxicant; it's quite the opposite - it's damn good for you!

To quote Bill Hicks, "Doesn't banning something natural seem a little... unnatural?".

not without a prescription......it's still illegal in canada, maybe not strictly enforced, but still illegal.....

i'd bet that a lot of places will decriminalize pot usage now that they don't face reprisals from dc.......the previous government here was threatened with a huge tightening of the u.s. the border when they tried decriminalizing it here

Yeah - it's still illegal to buy/sell it, so nothing new going on here. Maybe they will get the much needed income from all the rich teen/college American potheads going there thinking it's the new Amsterdam.

"What Argentina and Mexico are doing in many ways is blazing a new path."
I think they'll be blazing something else too

I'm glad to see that our society is beginning to realize exactly how arbitrary the past criminalization of marijuana is. It had nothing to do with safety. I give it 10 years in the majority of Western nations, at most.

yea, all the BS about pot really has to change. Not saying its good for a person but look at what alcohol does to a person - pot is really tame comparatively speaking. Plus we have these people actually doing time for a little pot on the tax payer dime.

Legalize it and tax it. THAT's a tax I'd support
