Which artwork to use with my music

Sign in to disble this ad
For myspace and that jazz. I made a whole bunch and narrowed it down to three. I figured you guys are a (mostly) smart bunch, so your input should be as good as it gets.

The picture really has nothing to do with Anti-humanism, and neither does my music, but the name means a lot to me.

Thanks for the help,
Sam.

#2. For no particular reason other than it appeals to me.

Agreed: If I had to pick one, I'd say 2 though. It stands out a bit having more color to it, but I'd consider trying a few different ideas before committing to this.

I know it's an eyeball, but the way you've distorted these, it looks kind of like an eyeball peeking out of a specific orifice where you would not want to see an eyeball. Just a little constructive criticism. BUTT with that said, I like number 2. The others are kind of washed out looking.

So, if I catch your drift, you're saying that he should change the planet from Earth to Uranus and retitle the album "Brown Eye"?

Actual artwork aside, I'd either use a different font or fill the current one in rather than outline it because it doesn't pop at all right now, especially "Anti-Human".

Ok, I'll try out messing around with the font.

I thought more people would like it, I thought it was pretty cool. But then again I like a lot of stuff most people dont.

I don't know about anybody else, but I was just busting your chops.

It's your album, go with what you like. After all, album art (and for that matter album titles and band names) is all part of the package that starts with the music. If people dig the music, they'll generally like those other things by association.

FWIW, I'd like to see #1 & #2 without the skewed/swirled perspective and a different font, but that's just me.

Yeah, I think even with how many people dont care for them I'll still probably go with #1. I'm not writing music for other people, so why should this be any different? If people like it then thats great, if they dont... well, whatcha gonna do?

Thank you peaveyuser for the compliments, if you like my stuff you should definately check out Steve Lawson hes phenominal.

Not a fan of any of them. The bent and twisted thing has been done to death.

The name "Anti-human" to me stirs up images of something alien.

But it's your CD dude. Go with whatever floats your boat.

Just so you know, we weren't bashing your art for the sake of being like every other online tough guy who spends all day talking **** behind his keyboard, more constructive criticism. I think you had the right idea putting it up here and seeing what people liked better/getting advice: But why do that and completely ignore the information you were given?

Another piece of advice you can choose to take or leave: Your artwork is not a square format. I don't know if you ever planned on making physical copies (CD-Rs), but the artwork would not fit to the usual (5' x 5' I think) format. Since it has the album title and everything, I assumed it would be attached to the album. If this is to remain strictly digital, it shouldn't be a problem though.

If you are set on the image, that's fine, but I would play with the fonts a bit more. You want your art to get peoples attention, but then again, if you are making music/artwork only for you, why did you initially care what we thought?

Just trying to help, good luck with your music.
