ATLANTA GEORGIA TB'ERS-I FOUND GASOLINE

Sign in to disble this ad
I went to the QT on Roswell Road this morning @ 5:00 am and they had gas. QT is only servicing 50% of their stores right now and it is always the same 50% to maintain continuity. The QT guy said they get a couple of deliveries every day and usually around 4:00 am they get a truck in. This is the QT just north of me and almost at Northridge. They only had regular unleaded though, which my car hates but......
It is in sandy springs about 1 mile south of the river just before you cross over into roswell.

Thanks for the heads-up. I passed one station that had gas on Memorial Drive early this morning. I also passed seven or eight that were out.

yep, sounds like sandy springs. there are probably 20 ststions near me and they are spotty at best. the qt evidently is the only one getting gas on a regular basis.

also for everyone, you can search for gas by zipcode:

www. jam-code. com

i do not know how acurate this is but at least it is something.

They don't hand out electric cars at the empty gas stations y'know.

The news (snooz) last night claimed that refiners in the
Gulf had cut back production previously as a result of lowered
usage (due to recent high prices).

A talking head analyst noted that they had no incentive to
produce and stock pile product.

I'm not sure I buy that analysis. One would think the profits
lost by having half or more of the outlets in the region closed
would translate to a lot of lost profits.

No doubt, the retailers are very unhappy.

I survive the gas shortages durng the Arab Oil embargo.
Summer 1978 iirc. I was able to fill up my van once, and
drove a motorcycle off of that for 4 weeks till things got back to normal.

Good luck with staying mobile.

I got gas on the way home. Didn't have to wait in line. $4.40 a gallon, though. I had about 3/8 of a tank left, but figured I better fill up while the fillin's good. "Panic buying", I know. I'm part of the problem.
There was only one other station between the highway and my house that had gas, and there was a long line at that one. On a corner, too, so the line was spilling into the street and preventing people from turning.

It seems the Gas issue down south has gotten very little coverage in the news media...really pathetic.

followed a gas tanker into qt today lol. didn't even need it really - only got 5 gallons (prius ftw, that was over 250 miles worth), but was first in line for it .

thankfully was still only 3.97 a gallon. gotta love qt.

I wish they would de-centralize the refining industry... Then get some oil locally.

I wonder why we didn't hear about any drilling stations having a spill during the hurricane... They are apparently designed well, we just need more.

Yeah, they are apparently designed pretty well. No leaks during Katrina either. I'm glad our technology is good with that.

Think of how outrageous this would have seemed even a year ago.
