Austin TX - Freight Companies - Help

Sign in to disble this ad
Here's my situation. I bought a pretty large merchandise case in ATX a few months back off Craigslist and the dilemma is that I do not live in ATX. I live in El Paso, TX. So....long story made short, I'm going to Austin with my friend whose going to UT at the moment and while i'm there i'm gonna try and find a way to get it back. I'm trying to find college friends that are going back to El Paso but they all drive sedans. This is a job for a midsized SUV or truck so unless I can find someone I have no other choice but to sell it or find a freight company. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good freight company in Austin? (A family member owns a lfairly large company here in El Paso so transportation via a freight company isn't a problem). Heck....if anyone here on TB that resides in Austin + tours tons..... maybe we can help each other out. Anyways, thanks guys.

Why don't you put an ad on Craigslist looking for someone with a pickup who has to drive from Austin to El Paso? You can help them with gas money and they can move the case for you. With all the students at t.u., someone MUST be going to El Paso before long.

Alternatively, a freight company - or even an outfit like Mayflower can move it if they have a truck coming your way. We once had a mover bring a china cabines, table and chairs from eastern WA to Colorado. They will take partial loads when they have room.
