God what a pointless study. x) I listen nearly only to metal and it's many subgenres, and I got the best grades in my class. Something doesn't fit the stereotype, I should be depressed and cut myself because of my musictaste right now =(

i heard about this on the news. news reporter said "study shows people who listen to rap are more inclined to be violent, people who listen to techno take drugs, and metal fans depressed and self destructive.

Well DURRR. And the Nobel Prize goes too... Darwin.

well, I don't think they're trying to stereotype everybody with this study. it just picks up a general correlation - you have to look at the numbers on a larger scale.

I know everyone's different, but you have to have somewhere to start, right?

also, the study didn't make any mention of bad grades.

just my 2 pennies, and for the record I play in a jazz group, a pop band, a heavy metal band, and a classical string orchestra

Thats right,I listen to metal in the mornings and cut myself.

I listen to jazz at nights and chill. Can't read ma' books because I can't hold them due to cuts though.
