Dream pet ... Winged-Lemur ...
our next pet will be named momo ... kids decided this a while back.
Did you guys think the live action movie was "that bad"?
I enjoyed it for what it was ... but knowing the stuff from the series that was kind of "unspoken" in the movie gave me insight that others didn't have i guess.

I personally didn't hate the movie. I enjoyed the TV show better, there was so much more to it, but, keeping in mind the limited time they had in the movie to tell the story, I think it was OK.

THAT, and visually it just was not impressive at all. Appa was neat, Aang's avatar-state transformation, at the very end was neat, but everything else. meh.
I loved the original series, have it all on disc...great little mythology they wove, and compelling characters. Dunno about the sound of this new series. I can see it maybe going real poor. Same writers?

| | | | I avoided this show out of the assumption it was a cheesy anime knock off for kids. I determined this solely by the cover art on the DVD's...man was I wrong.
Oddly, if it wasn't for that terrible live action film I would never have seen the series.
I need to watch the entire series again.

Greatest animated show on nickelodeon in a looonng time. I'm really looking forward to the new series, hopefully it goes well and continues the same kind of style.
The movie bugged me, idk, just didn't have the feeling of the show. What made me love the show was the way the characters developed and each was interesting.
Also, Luke Skywalker as Firelord? Awesome.

As far as western animation goes (by which I mean the story), it's easily number one, in my opinion. Looking forward to the new mini-series. It would've been interesting for them to have continued the story of Aang and crew but every good story has an ending and it ended perfectly. It'd be terrible if they ruined it so I'm cool with a fresh start

I loved the series, and dreaded watching the movie based on all the reviews....but after finally biting the bullet and watching it, I didn't think it was really that bad. The 'changes' that Shamalamadingdong made weren't really that bad and actually made sense when you thought about it.
