Regardless of how you feel about Axl and this suit, one thing is clear, if they agreed to his stipulations and then reneged on it, then sue away. Sux to be them.

Axl Rose's Hatred of Slash Results in $20 Million 'Guitar Hero' Lawsuit

Eager to become the talk of every music fans' Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, Axl Rose has just issued his most insane lawsuit yet, suing "Guitar Hero" makers Activision for $20 million for featuring Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" in "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock." Axl initially signed off on "Jungle" being used in the game, but on one condition: Do not put any music by Velvet Revolver, which boasts guitarist Slash (Rose's former bandmate and mortal enemy) in the game. Well, not only did "Guitar Hero III" offer a bunch of Velvet Revolver songs, they crowned Slash the game's spokesperson, featured him on the game's cover and made him a playable avatar. Cue Axl's lawsuit.

Color me meh on the entire topic - I can't stand Axl Rose, and I despise Guitar Hero. Maybe they'll sue each other out of existence.

Now THAT would be something I can be thankful about.

True enough, but if Activision reneged on the deal, he has every right to sue (and win, if it was put in writing).

Let's see, he waited three years after the game's release to sue. Sounds like he needs escrow money for the Chinese Democracy tour. The toolage in this affair pends epic.

As long as he's within the statute of limitations for this kind of thing, he's good to go.

maybe he can then afford those eyebrow implants he's been needing, and a nice house on the hillside with land for his ego to graze....

Very true. The fact that he even put that clause in the original contract is still quite sad.

...presuming there's a legally executed contract with his claimed stipulations, of course. Let's not assume too much here.

Right. IF it's all in writing and both parties signed on, then he's golden. If not, then he's **** outta luck.

Win the lawsuit or not, he has his name out there in the media again and getting some attention. My guess is he has some kind of project in the works that is about to drop.

yeah, opportunists rarely waste an opportunity... too bad there little more than a dull roar when Chinese Democracy finally dropped. It really wasn't that *bad* a record, just not a G'n'R record.

I was bored with G 'n' R from the day I heard Welcome to the Jungle. Sounded like a 'nice try' version of Aerosmith's Back in the Saddle.

Bored with Axl, Slash, Guitar Hero.

I like chocolate chip cookies.
