Gosh. Glad mine are not babies anymore. Something else for new parents to fret about.

Why was the baby under the mom's clothing? Was it cold out?

Its tragic, but isn't the suffocation risk nothing new? I thought there was already a movement to ban these things.

I wouldn't put a 2 day old baby in a sling. Seems a bit young to me. I don't even think mine were sent home from the hospital until the 2nd or 3rd day.

'Various forms of the sling have been used for centuries without problem. In the Chinese and Asian community you see here, it's rare to see a pushchair unless it's an older child.

Problem is misuse of the sling, not the sling itself.

I was referring to more recent deaths, I know it has been used for centuries. They are immensely popular up in Vermont where I used to live. Honestly I agree that is is misuse or negligence that is the problem or a combination of both.

Yeah, misuse and neglect are probably at fault in the majority of accidents.

With regard to this case, without more details it would be hard to say if something, if anything, was done wrong or neglected.
