Bad storms and power companies.

We had average to above-average storms here over a week ago and there are still people without power. Never lost power here, but many people I know did.

Everything around here is a mess. What I don't get is when you're 1 whole day late making a payment, you get phone calls and letters. Yet when the service you're paying for and depend on is out for several days, you can't even get through to the company. I wish there was more competition so these companies can’t do this stuff.

And on a related topic. The Detroit Greektown Casino here is Detroit declared bankruptcy and is seeking to be bailed out of their mess. Does that mean when the average person goes in debt to that casino, they have the right to be bailed out of their mess as well?
