If nothing else, it saves the world another meh superhero flick, and Alan Moore won't have to waste his time denouncing it, either. |

Watchmen is the pinnacle of the graphic novel art form, created specifically to be just that: a graphic novel. It's not meant to be a basis for a film, or an animated series, or a line of dishwashing detergent commercials.
Of course, the rest of me is infinitely bummed it's getting pushed back. And, when it does finally come out, I will be there opening night.
Who else is dressing up as Dr. Manhattan? |

But a quick Google search shows that this dispute has already been settled. Fox & Warner settle Watchmen dispute. |

I work at Sony, we are doing the fx for the movie (although I'm not personally working on it). From what I hear, it's a shot-by-shot recreation of the graphic novel, camera angles and everything. Of course that doesn't guarantee it won't suck, but at least they are trying to be faithful to the original. |
