I have a pretty strong stomach and usually have no problem trying a new food...

Some folks also like baked beans and other variations on the theme.
"Bangers and mash" is indeed pork sausages and mashed potatoes, often served with a thick gravy such as onion gravy. Note to Americans - we're talking brown gravy as served with roast meat here, not the thick and creamy stuff you have with your "biscuits".

You boil a ham hock till it's done, then the potatoes and noodles boil in the same water. Put some noodles and potatos in a bowl, then throw a chunk of ham on top. Long time family recipe...takes all day to make. We used to always have it on Sundays for a big family dinner.
