I found the last roll of Polaroid SX70 film in my fridge. The film had the unique quality of being able to be "manipulated" while the emulsion set.
Use a stick or edge and smoosh the film---some amazing art made this way. Unfortunately the factory finally shut down (i dont think the polaroid film available now works for manipulation). I figured I'd try my hand at it before the film turned bad.
Here's three shots of my Deep 5...direct scans with no photoshop. Cool medium. Its kind of sad its gone. |

I'm gonna miss polaroids. I have about 150 left, of what my grandmother gave to me since she wasn't going to use them.

While I bet there's piles of NOS film somewhere, I think I'll leave it to legit artists. Have you found any? |
