Going to California - Leaving (on a jet plane) Wed. July 7 for LA for a week of fun in the sun. While there, the wife and kids + nieces will be doing lots of touristy stuff that I've been able to opt out of (phew!). I've got good friends in the area so I'll be hanging, low-key style.
It occurred to me that I could use this opportunity do a 'bass-centric tour' of the area and go check out things like some off the beaten path shops, music venues and other bass-related points of interest.
I am especially interested in bass building, so if there are any luthiers who are open to showing off their wares and talking shop, that'd be #1 on my hit list. But any creative, bass/music related suggestions that can expose some of the hidden gems of the So. Cal. area will be very much appreciated.
Can anyone of your savvy So. Cal. low-enders recommend me some 'must see' suggestions for us bass players?
