Sorry if this is bad forum etiquette but basschat has gone down and I bought something off someone from there yesterday and now have no easy way of contacting them, thats why im asking.

So can anyone tell me if this is just going to be a temporary problem? I know some users from there use this forum too...

Basschat is pretty much the more irreverent UK-based equivalent to TB. And yep, it's down. It's gone down before though, wouldn't be surprised to see it up and running again later today - they seem to have fairly regular, but brief, outages.

This is another reason why you get alternate contact means, such as phone numbers to call.

POINTS

1.*irreverant* is not neccesarily a bad thing- particularly in OT(off-topic)
2. Unless we're talking a big deal like a very nice bass or amp, I wouldn't worry too much just yet- little happens overnight, right?
3. Stick around- we get pretty silly over here too. There are lots of UK TBers all talkin funny & stuff.

Welcome to TB, & I hope it turns out alright for you.

What if you google his name from BassChat?
Most times, you can find information. And there's a pretty good chance the seller is also a member here on TB.

They have a myspace account -- http://www.myspace.com/bassworldcouk

I've already sent one message, but don't hold your breath ... they last logged on almost 2 years ago.

I seem to remember talk of an 'emergency assembly point' on MSN too ... might be worth hunting for that (possibly under the older name of 'bassworld.co.uk', the infrastructure was somewhat flaky in those days)

If you think about it, that's a very active forum with active moderation ... I'm sure that half-a-dozen key people are WELL aware of the problem and are working on it right now.

I've just about exhausted the possibilities open to me. I can't find the Emergency assembly area anywhere (used to be on the now-defunct msn groups). However I have directly mailed both Ped and CrazyKiwi ... well, indirectly actually, via myspace.
