I have 6-8 hanging up & a few that need repair, mostly 1/72 WW-II fighters, but I dabble in most anything plastic & military.
I'm douching the man-cave today but will come back & talk gear in awhile.

Some of my stuff. I keep having the desire to add the Italeri XB-70 to my collection, because, well, it's a sexy looking plane.
I'll try and take pics of my other stuff once I dust them.
EDIT:Here they are. They don't look exemplary, and definitely not show worthy, and besides which, most of them aren't done of have pieces broken off anyway. But, here they are.
When people say this kit is big, they aren't kidding. That's a 1/72 B-36, with a 1/72 Typhoon on top of it.
My room, complete with airplanes hung from the ceiling. The Dauntless and the Wildcat are my dad's.
My 1/144 767, in Delta markings. I had a crapload of these at one time.
1/48 scale F-18. Partially finished by the first owner(also missing a burner can for one of the engines). I got it at a flea market for $2, so, still a good deal.
1/48 Apache, also a flea market score, missing the canopy.
1/48 F-111. The canopy was modded to be open, I used wire cutters to cut it into three pieces, and just used some sheet styrene as a center support.
1/72 scale Spitfire. These 1/72 kits were a dime a dozen at a local dollar store. I'd go down every week and get another.
With the 1/72 Typhoon
1/48 B-25. It was kinda a rushed job, and it shows it.
All the 1/72 planes

I've worked for this company for 15 years and my duties include operating the plastic injection molding machines, painting the parts, printing the graphics and many other things. As far as factory work goes it's a pretty good gig.

I noticed after I built the DIY 2x12 Cab the credenza on the left has an A6 intruder depicted. I guess I will have to get busy with the camera.
I did find a few pics of the miniature dollhouse I scratch built in the 90's, it wasn't quite done when I took the pics, but you get the idea. It was an interesting project in many ways as the structure is 6 sided and the stained glass, my first attempt at that was 3D.
The circular stairway was 80% preassembled outside the lighthouse. The central post of the stairs is hollow and lamp wire passes through it to electrify the light up top. The stairway was then inserted and screwed in like a corkscrew till it got done to the first floor and the final pieces screwed and soldered in. The railings are brass tubing from the hobby store. Everything was scratch made except the electrical gear and the prehung doors and windows. Took me about a year. All the stuff was cut on a table saw, I got good at doing 60 degree angles and compound angles as the structure got thinner as it went up.

I spent a good portion of my youth putting together 1:24 Revell Monogram Nascar models.
I got to the point that I would source proper waterslide decals to replace the generic decals they would include for cars that had beer sponsorships. Sand down the tires so they had wear on them, cut out the plastic window nets from the role cages and use electical tape to simulate the window netting laying over the side of the car. I would also use oven cleaner to remove the chroming from the wheels and other parts so that I could paint them (the wheels) black like they were supposed to be back then. I'd also use fishing line to simulate plug wires.
I lost interest when I hit my mid teens (about the same time I lost interest in Nascar) though and that was in the 90's so no pictures of those models exist.
I did buy a Tamiya Subaru Impreza WRC model a few years back but never got around to putting it together. |

Edit: Wow, TBird, those are really realistic. I thought the first picture was the real thing to compare it to the model!

Back in the day (Age 7-15) I got through about 2 a month, before school and music got in the way. My younger brother (13 atm) also models and is a fair bit better than I was...
Not a good shot... (I may try and dig out the pic of a B17 diorama from about 4 years ago, should I be bothered...)
