I know I'm not alone. Let's start a club for all the bassists who back into parking spaces. It makes a quick getaway so much easier.

I do it purely to show off- I can't believe how many people just can't drive in reverse.

Ha, I'm in. I like to leave my escape options open. Always have an escape plan because you never know!!!!

PS; I also like to sit in corner tables with my back to a wall so I have a clear view of the bar.

well matter of factly, it was put out in a memo that when i park my work truck i have to back in. Dont want anybody to be ran the heck over. But not while i play bass, that would be irresponsible.

So you're a member of the "Bassists Who Have Psycho Ex-Girlfriends On The Loose And/Or Owe Money To The Mob" club too, huh?

I still do it out of habit. In the service we called it 'tactical parking'.

There has to be a trouble maker for these club threads so here I go. I'm a bass player who prefers to pull through to another aisle so I'm facing out. It's highly superior to backing into a space like some neanderthal.

That makes you a poseur. You want to look like you backed in, but you don't really have the skills.

I'm in for real. I back in.

I do it all the time. Especially if I can find a space close to the door. I can bearly lift up my amp half the time.

i'm a pull-througher too! i had a van a few years back that didn't have the cameras and back-up beeper that you can get on vans and suvs today. i was so afraid i would run over something.... or somebody!

besides, when you get over a certain age, your neck doesn't swivel as far as it once did.....

Dudes, I've got a job valet parking in a big hotel. All we do is reverse park. I've honestly reverse parked over 1,000 cars in the past two years. You're not alone!
