Hey guys, so I've been a Battlefield fan from the beginning, and just got B3 for Xbox. Not worth $1000 for a new PC just for one game. Been havin a blast in hardcore servers, probably the most realistic, strategic, and frantic shooter I've ever played.
Hard to find squaddies who play with their microphones and actually try to play as a team. Its not Call of Duty, you're supposed to use strategy and teamwork. Anybody around here down to be my friend and tear it up? I only play in Hardcore too, if you haven't tried yet its so much more engaging than normal mode.

The graphics are absolutely INCREDIBLE on the PC compared to the consoles. Plus, the PC gets 64-player servers. This one is personal, but I'd much, much rather play a shooter with a mouse/keyboard than a controller (not to mention all my friends have the PC version).
But yeah the game is absolutely intense. I think my favorite in the line was 2142 though. Still hoping for 2143.

Still hoping for 2143. | I'm with you completely actually, played BF2 to death on PC. 2 years ago I would have dropped the cash purely for this game but alittle older/alittle smarter says use that cash for expenses / bass crap instead of a PC for a single game, when I have a perfectly good 360 sitting here. Although I could only imagine 64 player matches, and when I first loaded up the graphics were really disappointing (after watching so many PC demos).
Still, the gameplay is fully intact, and the controller scheme doesnt bother me anymore. Days worth of Halo and Bad Co 2 have converted me. The maps are tight enough that 12 on 12 matches are still hella intense, especially maps like Tunnels. The spacious ones can make you wonder if everyone left the server then you look at the map and the party's happening 400 yards away

If I didn't have a gaming PC I'd be fine with the console version haha. I could definitely see how empty the bigger maps must be, but that one with the tunnels and those two hallways just become RPG fests because they're so crowded lol.

The demo was pretty awesome though.

My situation was slightly different, I too prefer to use mouse and keyboard for FPS, but nearly everyone I know has it on PS3!
Apparently it was designed on consoles (this only came out recently, before it had been heavily implied that it was a PC game ported to console, but they changed this mid development).
I do like the thought of more players and better graphics, but the graphics on the PS3 are stunning
BF2 kicks ass tho, still play that bad boy on PC!

Made for a really crappy round. So far BF3 looks really balanced, my only complaints is that enemy snipers can be waaaay too hard to find unless you decide to take on the role yourself (although this is realistic), and how a competent 2-man tank team can wreck house for days (also pretty realistic.) So my complaints are only that war sucks
I've been pimping the assault class primarily, they cut the time limit to revive a teammate waaay back so usually you get there with your defib's just a second late and get taken down, but having 1 or 2 dedicated medics in an assault can turn the tides of an infantry battle over a chokepoint.

I miss the days when a squad could only spawn on the squad leader. My job was a lot more important (keep the squad leader alive so we could all spawn on him). I kind of miss commanders and vehicle drops, too.
But I do love this game.

I miss the commanders and various drops too, however, I don't miss getting smacked by artillary!
I'm not a huge fan of the unlocking stuff for vehicles, but that's mainly becasue I suck at using jets with only a machine gun!

Especially with the Xbox controller, I like that in Hardcore, whoever sees the other guy first wins. Not turn around and strafe-battle ala CoD.
And I havent had much time to mess with jets n choppers yet, never cared much for jets in BF2 and I dont care about achievements n crap. A good chopper pilot and a competent squad can wreck hell on a big conquest map.
