In light of the recent "Canada Is Messed Up" and "I Wish I were British" threads, I leave you this - BBC correspondent, Kevin Connolly's Guide to American culture. It's truly nice to see something positive for a change. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programme...nt/9294890.stm

"And after three years of eating steaks the size of elephant's ears off plates bigger than satellite dishes, all of our crockery back in Europe now looks like it was borrowed from a doll's house. They may take some getting used to."

I still like Top Gear's impression of America as portrayed in their road trip through the south with phrases like "Looking for Gay Love" and "Nascar Sucks" spray painted on their cars. |

Good article, v.funny and interesting, he obviously enjoyed his stay, nice perspective.

As someone who has visited the US quite a lot and enjoyed myself tremendously on each occasion, I have a hard time understanding some of the anti-American sentiment expressed by a few very poorly informed people back here.
Sure, you guys have your funny little quirks - but who doesn't? Count me in as a fan of the steaks, anyway.
