when you have 5 undefeated teams, you just have to have a playoff or a system similar to that. |

Here is what I would like to see:
Auburn getting beaten in their BCS bowl. Oh wait, they aren't playing in one...
Seriously, I'll be pulling for Auburn over Northwestern as I expect most Bama/SEC fans will.

Cincinnati's offense is excellent, but their defense is poor. I see a score close to 50-30 Gators. TCU over Boise State. Defense and offense are both stellar on this team. Boise…just has an offense. Tech is playing a Big 10 team. Enough said.
When do we get to see the spreads?

No disrespect to the Broncos. They earned their spot just like the Frogs did. On the contrary, I think the jackasses in the BCS stuck it to Boise, too.
What TCU wanted (and Boise State, too) was the chance to prove their mettle against the big boys. Give us Florida, Iowa, GA Tech, etc. and let's see if we truly belong in the conversation. But the BCS has other plans........
They can't risk exposing 2 BCS teams to the chance that TCU and Boise will pound them like Utah did to Bama (By the way, how's that win looking?). That undermines the whole idea of the "automatic bid". If teams from the big 6 conferences can't stand up in head to head battles, that gets us closer to the BCS monopoly caving in.
That being said, The Fiesta will be a VERY entertaining game with 2 of the very best college football has to offer.

| | | | We are sorry here in Huskerland that the Texas Longhorns managed to escape at the last second. Ndamukong Suh and the Pelini Bros. Amazing Flying Defense Circus made the Longhorn offense look awful silly for four quarters. If the Huskers had managed to beat Texas the BCS wouldv'e imploded worse than ever before. You can bet Bama will be puttin' some hurt on the Longhorns as Bama has a potent offense, plus they play mighty fine defense too. Texas ain't faced anything quite like the Crimson Tide this season. I guess I should root for Big XII champ as a Husker fan to win the national title, but I'm a realist. I think the Tide is gonna' roll over Texas.

If you watched only the Big 12 and SEC title games, I would agree with you 100%. But I've seen both teams several times this year. I've seen Texas look bulletproof. I've seen Bama taken to the wall by a bad Auburn team. I've seen Texas scared to death by a bad Aggie team.
A ton of 1's and 0's will be burnt on this board over the next few weeks arguing the pros and cons. A lot of definitive statements will be spouted, like some dude has inside info and besides, he "knows" the game.
2 things to remember:
#1- Texas ain't Oklahoma
#2- The last time they were in this game, they beat a heavily favored team (USC) with the Heisman winner (Leinart). They were led by an iconic college player (Vince). This time they will be playing a heavily favored team (although Vegas opened this game only Bama +4). I fully expect Ingram to win the Heisman. And there isn't a QB in the history of college football that has won more games than Colt McCoy (and he damn sure is an icon here in TX).
Just sayin'......

When do we get to see the spreads? | It amuses me that people think Boise State has no D. They pretty much blew up a very potent Oregon offense on national TV.
Unlike nearly everyone on this thread, I think Boise State will win. Kellen Moore is the reason why.

Boise's defense has allowed 34 to Fresno State, 21 to Tulsa, 35 to Louisiana Tech, 25 to Idaho, 21 to Utah State, and 33 to Nevada. That's mediocre defense, that spent a significant amount of time planning for Oregon because it's a national televised game and their only way into the national championship.
Not to take anything away from Boise–they have a great offense and have run the table again–they're a good team, maybe even one of the top ten in the country this year, but TCU is better.

Just sayin'...... | No direspect for Colt McCoy and what he's accomplished with the Longhorns up here in Huskerland at all. Texas has a great team this year, and has been quite relevant in the national title picture for most of this decade, besides winning it's last national title in a gritty and spectacular fashion. With that said I think Bama for now seems to have the edge, and that is my honest opinion, and I've watched more than just Big XII and SEC games this year.
As a proud child of the corn, I want the BCS National Title to come to the Big XII conference. What's good for Texas is also good for the rest of the conference, even including the poor cousins in the northern division. I'm saying that Texas is gonna' have to do it's biggest gut check of the season and play it's finest game because the Crimson Tide is for real. So yes I'm saying Go Hook em' Horns!
