I'm pretty bummed about this news for no other reason than being a big fan and for not wishing to see anyone suffer... and as such wish for him a speedy recovery.

I haven't seen them play since the "Hello Nasty" tour, and they were excellent, and just seen like genuine likeable guys.

Tough break but glad they caught it early. Best of luck to you Adam!

And of course, it's the bassist who gets sick. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

I'm a big fan, and I hope he kicks it, but man I still can't get over how old these dudes look.

he's 45? I woulda guessed 30-something. I don't know where you're getting "old" from

Bummer man. I've always dug the Beasties. MCA is a good bassist too.

The only winning move is not to play.

This is MCA two years ago. He's 44 now. He looks old for his age.

Yikes. I've been a fan for a long time, I recently bought the vinyl 20th anniversary () remaster of Paul's Boutique. And Yauch was my favorite even before I learned he played bass. I hope he makes a full recovery.

Hope you get well!

I grew up on the Beasties (I remember "Fight For Your Right to Party" from 1987). I hope he recovers. Things today aren't like they were in the 70's & 80's with cancer. Cancer used to be a guaranteed death sentence back in the day. People are beating it more and more these days. He may be able to beat this and keep on going for many years.

Let's hope. Cancer is no way to go.
