Sign in to disble this ad
Was away to send a message to someone over bebo, seems to be giving a wierd error message when I try to get on the site.

Can anyone else get on, just so I know if it is my connection or not.

Cheers

I just got a Facebook and it's the coolest thing ever IMO. All these people I had totally forgotten about that I went to school with are adding me and we can chat and whatever. I'm never going back to MySpace.

It sounds so childish - it's what parents do when they are playing with new-born infants....

As in - hide behind something and then pop out and shout "bebo" - causing amusement to the infant!

According to Britain's tabloid rags, bebo is also being patrolled by perverts and child sex offenders, because it's easier to groom than on facebook. Sadly, I imagine there are plenty of perverts on the site.

I wonder if the original inventor of the internet ever gave a thought to the fact that he was creating the perfect environment for predatory paedophiles...?

I'm not sure that was high on the list of concerns. Paedos have always found a way of getting to kids, the net was just another avenue.

But in real life - it is very hard to pretend you are a 14 year old - when you are actually in your 40s - but online is a different story, apparently...?

If they wern't luring kids via the internet they'd be snatching them into vans, perving at swimming pools, parks and such, looking for easy access to kids. Basically, everything paedos do when they're not on the net!

Doubt it, it was originally just a way for some universities to share information. People like that will always find some way to do it

When I was a kid - many, many years ago - well before the internet or computers - paedophiles were never in the News or on TV - there was no public perception or mention of their existence.

I did find out about 2 though, through personal experience - one was the local Church Boys Brigade leader and the other worked as a manager at the local supermarket where I had a Saturday job - he only hired boys from Grammar Schools for part-time jobs...

He was taken away by the Police when I was there - but there was nothing in the papers or on TV...

I think it is shown more in the news and such these days, but as you pointed out, just because it wasnt in the news, didnt mean it didnt happen.
