Been thinking about this for a while now...

So, I've been thinking of shaving my dreadlocks of. A few reasons really, which I won't bore you with but I thought - how about getting folks to sponsor me and make some money for charity while I'm at it?

But my friend said it would be wrong to do that as I've already been thinking about it!

What do you guys think? I'm ok with it if I can't do that, just thought it would be a cool thing to do (and if I'm honest, a good way of getting my mother off my case - she doesn't want me to do it!)

All opinions welcome

I don't see how its wrong as long as the money is all going to charity. in fact I Think its a great idea.

It's a dread-hawk - the most metal kind of dreadlocks!

Thanks man!

I would like to raise some money for Cancer Research, seeing as it's taken several people I cared about in my life

I played my friend Heather's de-dred-ing show before (called the "Dreded event"), donated the door plus sponsored cuting off one of her dreds. It was 10 bucks a dred. She raised alot of money for charity.

(that's actually me playing in the background music)

I think it's a good idea as long as it's honorable.

Besides, dreds are kinda played out these days. Embrace the freedom.

My wife won't let me shave my head, but these folks do a "head shaving for charity" thing.

St. Baldricks

Too radical, perhaps? I can understand that.

Either way, pix are REQUIRED!

worth checking out. A lot of my friends have donated to Locks For Love

"Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis."

OP,I like your avatar.

I don't know about the charity thing but there was a recent (not too recent) thread where a TB'er got rid of his locks. He turned from a hippie into a gentleman (not saying he wasn't,by the looks I mean),you may check it for reference.
