Being ill is not good for your weight

In the last 3-4 weeks I lost EIGHT KILOS, comin down from a healthy 78-79 kg to a measly 71-72 kg. Worst is, I'm still ill, so I expect to lose another 2-3 kg, not very healthy for a guy that's 1.83 m

Color me confused as well.

Wikipedia seems to suggest it was a "is an inactive stratovolcano in north-eastern Tanzania."

Careful with who you call yankee, not every American is a yankee, as I've learned here on TB.

I'd say this thread is a relative success. It's gone from illness related weight loss to American regional cultural differences in less than five posts.

Well played team.

Have you seen a doctor? Rapid weight loss, especially due to illness, is mainly fluids and means a drastic reduction in important electrolytes; sodium, potassium magnesium and manganese, which may lead to other adverse health effects.

Hope you feel better soon!

Normally I never go to the doctor, but suddenly losing twenty pounds is usually serious. I don't know if you want to go into detail about your illness, but this sounds like a little more than the common cold.

If it will make you feel better, I'll give you twenty of my pounds...

I'm taller and i weigh about 70-73kg. Then again, I'm a highly tuned lightweight athlete.

Whatever it is, put it in a test tube and send it to me. I could do with losing about 20kg.

I hate it when I get ill. When I really work out, I climb up a little over the minimum BMI. Every time I suffer from something, I can drop to an abysmal weight.
