Will Brown Deliver The Crown ??
By
Jerome Keel
This Saturday June 7th, 2008. Belmont Park is expecting a record crowd to witness Big Brown's attempt to become the 12th winner of the elusive Triple Crown. It's been thirty years since Affirmed won it.
The Triple Crown is the hardest chamipionship to win in all of sports.
Like all New Yorkers I will be rooting for Big Brown.
The field for The Test Of Champions looks like this:
No .8-- Ann Nakal: Would have to improve many lengths to be a factor.
No. 1-- Big Brown: Another blockbuster performance will make him a Triple Crown winner.
No. 5 -- Casino Drive: Won first start in the United States. Bred to run all day. Workouts have been on the slow side.
No. 6 -- Da'Tara: Does not belong in the race.
No .4 --Denis Of Cork: Finished third to Big Brown in th Derby.Working well. Contender.
No. 2 --Guadalcanall: Has not won a race. Pass.
No. 10 --Icbad Crane: Finished third in the Preakness. Will be running at the finish.
No. 3 --Macho Again: Second to Brown in Preakness. Should be able to get the One mile and a half distance.
No. 9 --Ready's Eco: Improving colt.Third to Casino Drive in the Peter Pan stakes. Will have no problem with the distance.
No. 7 --Tale Of Ekati: He's two for two at Belmont Park. Working great for this start. Ran fourth in the Kentucky Derby.
Safe trip to all the riders and horses in the 140th Belmont Stakes.
My Top Five Selection's :
No .1 -- BIG BROWNN
No. 4 -- Denis Of Cork
No. 9 -- Ready's Eco
No. 7 -- Tale Of Ekati
No.10 -- Icbad Crane |

Is more likely. We will see. Supposed to be in the low 90's, humid, and sunny at post. Not fit or man or horse. |

I was going to start a thread about this, but here it is!
I think Big Brown will win, but we must all remember: Many a horse which looked hopeful could not win The Belmont Stakes due to the fact that it's a mile and a half. It's a long race for both horse and jockey.
Let's just hope that he (Big Brown) wins.
There's been no Triple Crown winner for 30 years, and I want to see one!
Mike

I read the jockey said " I had no horse" after the race. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
