Best bluetooth earbud headset?

Sign in to disble this ad
After years of resisting, I've broken down and have become Bluetooth guy. I have a Samsung WEP475 and it's not loud enough. It's mic also collects too much noise and it gets uncomfortable after an hour or so.

What do you guys use?

I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro. Which was one of the highest-rated/regarded models by many tech review places when I bought it. It hasn't disappointed. Excellent quality on both ends.

In a car, I find the sound is much better with a bluetooth speaker (plus most phones can support spoken dialing now – the exception should be anything from RIM). In the office, plugged-in headsets don't pick up noise (my Plantronics one is doing great). The volume is usually better too. On foot, you place a phone to your ear so you don't just shout at strangers in front of you. (We all shout on the phone)

So, depending on what the need is: bluetooth speaker, wired headset, or quitting the obnoxious habit.

I had a Jabra STONE when I still had my cell phone, I enjoyed it thoroughly. The portable charger is very handy.

Plantronics makes great products as do Jabra. But guys - is this really necessary?

Whenever I see someone with one I think of a Borg on Star Trek. As Wanda Sykes said "What's so important? You expecting a call from the White House"?

I think that if you're using a phone while driving you should have one. Recently they made the law here that you can't use a phone while driving unless you're older than 21...

That's how I feel about that.

we cant use a phone while driving in California.. Cant even hold it in your hand or you get smacked with a ticket!

something like a $20 ticket the first offense, but after fee's it works out to over $200.

I have a Jawbone Icon. Its been pretty awesome. Very comfortable, very small.

I am too old, I dont know what you guys are talking about, is this related to the hand free phone option that comes in some cars? I can use my phone while driving, the sounds comes through the speakers and I guess there is a mic somewhere, works perfectly fine for me.

Can someone please explain to me how wanting to drive with both hands on the wheel while on the phone makes me a d-bag?? Because I use available technology to fill a need that makes me a certain type of unpleasant person? Weird.

I need to take the calls as they come in. I may be typing or driving, but those calls have to be answered.

Say no to cybernetic ear cockroaches.

1. You look stupid.
2. Your phone calls aren't that important.
3. If it's because you can't drive and talk at the same time, if it's important they will leave a message or if it's that important to you pull the %^*& off the road there are parking lots everywhere.
4. talking through one make people want to stab you.

What the hell is with everyone's obsession with being available 24/7?

1. i look stupid with or without the bt headset.
2. i beg to differ. most of my calls are very important, to me.
3. you ever tried to pull off to the side of the interstate? let me tell you - 99% of the other people out there, can't drive to save their lives.
4. if you want to stab someone because they are talking on the phone, seek help.

and as for being obsessed with being available 24/7 - for some of us, it is a job requirement. my desk phone forwards to my cell - because i spend quite a bit of time not at my desk.

and to the OP - i have the Plantronics Voyager Pro also. very comfortable if you use the correct size tip. but, now the Voyager Pro+ can be had for about the same $$ - well worth the upgrade as it supports streaming - so you can get navigation prompts, normal phone alerts, in your ear instead of your pocket.

This is the most ignorant thing I've read today. It's still morning though so don't give up hope.

Or I could be driving to a meeting on a project that is potentially worth more than a million dollars and I get a call to inform me of some important changes. It sure is nice to be able to discuss the changes before I show up to the meeting with the clients where I am the one that is supposed to know what is going on. Happened last week.

People seemingly talking to themselves is kinda stupid and creepy, but it's often necessary. I need to take the majority of my business calls in real-time. It's also good to be hands-free so i can hold a clipboard and write, type or drive.
