Filtered at home. Really. I live on a well and I have it going through a UV light and then through a filter on my fridge.

Too many plastic bottles floating around to just buy ones you can't really reuse a whole lot.

There's a difference just like different tap water tastes different (because bottled water is basically tap water from somewhere else). But I don't think bottled water is better than tap, unless you live in a town with very bad/hard water. New Jersey is supposed to have really bad water whereas Long Island has 'the best,' but it doesn't make much of a difference to me.

Yep.

For a bottled water in a pinch, I like Poland Spring just fine, the Missus likes Fiji.

That's what my wife & daughter do. They don't drink the RO.

Most bottled water come from the same municipal systems that tap does. yes it may be filtered but a tap filter is just as good and a better use of resources.

Sounds right to me. I live in Jersey and the tap water there is pretty bad. I still drink it because I'm not picky at all, but I have a big filtered pitcher thing that I keep in the fridge.

When I first experienced soft water in Long Island I almost flooded the house with soap bubbles. I was used to needing tons of shampoo, soap etc. Over there you need a drop. In Jersey even a cup of soap won't make a bubble bath!

I have a good RO system also for my aquarium water and I have it plumbed into the refrigerator for ice and drinking water.

As far as bottled water, I can't tell one from another The water directly from our tap smells and tastes like the phosphate mines

I love the tap water here. Maybe we have better water on this side of the Atlantic.

Bottled Water has to go down as one of the biggest scams in history. It's amazing how easy it seems to be able to get rich off stupid people.

The only time I ever buy bottled water is if I'm going camping, or if I need a drinking bottle to keep-refilling for the day.

Some places have good water in their homes. Some places don't. In my town, the water comes out of the ground at 90 degrees F, and it has lots of extra minerals in it, which you can see precipitating in the glass. And it tastes like crap. Complex filtering doesn't make it good water. In Boulder, CO, though, the water came from a glacier, and was ice cold from the tap.

Consider yourself lucky that you live in a place where they have good water.

That certainly was funny, and I totally see their point. But come over to my house sometime and have a glass of water.
