Price range? Are you in the Sub-Zero/Thermador neighborhood, or the Kenmore/Whirlpool neighborhood?

Ive had bad luck with GE, so I would stay away. Also if you look at Kenmore, find out who actually makes a specific model (GE, whirlpool, etc.) as they are all made by others and rebranded as Kenmore.

Can't recommend a specific model but I am steering all my friends AWAY from LG appliances in general. We got one of their dishwashers new about 3-4 years ago and it's garbage. I have had it apart at least 3 times in the last 12 months to repair wiring issues that apparently are a design defect. For what you pay for LG you do not even get close to your money's worth.

Our current fridge is a GE and while it's a side-by-side vs. a bottom freezer we've been very happy with that. The water hookup for the ice maker was a real PITA when we installed it but if your model doesn't have one of those it should be no prob.

Nice. LG has a good reputation with their bottom freezer fridges. The GE Profile series is higher end for GE. Whirlpool owns Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid, and Jenn-Air.

We have an Amana, which is kind of like the budget line. We can tell too. It's not the best quality out there. We'll be looking to replace it soon. I would suggest you walk right past those at the appliance store. I wish I had done better research before I bought this Amana.

I will never again buy Frigidaire... liked my washer/dryer so I bought their fridge and it's JUNK. It is their lowest line though.

I am redoing my new kitchen now (really, I'm just sitting on TB while I take a coffee break) I bought fridge, drop in solid surface range and dishwasher in the 'GE Profile' line. I did a LOT of shopping and research in Dec and that is the way I went.

No opinion yet... I just got the archway, drywall and top cabinets done, getting ready to tile... THEN build the base cabinets. So another week or so before I have an opinion on them.

I went with the side by side model

Here is the state the kitchen is in (well a couple days ago)

I like the concept, but with a bottom-freezer unit, do you have to bend over every time you want ice? That would be a dealbreaker for me. Side by side is fine.

Major +1 on that, I would say GE is your best bet.
