The store pickup from Best Buy is great, I totally dig it. Shop online, pay online, wait 15 minutes, go pick it up at my local BB about 10 minutes away.
The only other store I know of that does this is Sears. Does anyone know of other retailers that are doing it too?

By the time I waited in the in-store pickup line, I could have pulled the items off of the shelf myself. I suppose that could be the exception, but it was my one experience.

-Mike | Sounds schweet! If you've got any college age kids you might want to see if you can do something with this deal: Buy a PC and Get a Free Xbox 360
Could save some cash if you return the laptop and 360. I think Microsoft has their own official promotion like this as well.

It's especially nice that MC does that. They have SOOOOO much stuff it can be really hard to track stuff down in the store.

Also, you can buy movie tickets online, print the ticket, then when you get to the theater you go straight to the usher and walk right in. My wife and I did that a couple of weeks ago when we went to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. No muss, no fuss!

I was in the store for less than one minute. I suppose it would have taken longer had there been a line at the counter I went to.
The part I left out is Best Buy sent me an e-mail saying my order was ready for pickup. The website says to allow 45 minutes, but it is never more than 10 minutes each time I have done it.

Could save some cash if you return the laptop and 360. I think Microsoft has their own official promotion like this as well. | I looked into it, but you can get a better laptop AND an Xbox 360 for less by just buying them separately. You have to buy a specific (overpriced) laptop to qualify.

When they work, these services are great for getting stuff done on your lunch break. Otherwise, I usually like to browse the CD section or check something else out. |

I dont like to have things sent to my home, because there isnt always someone around to receive things. So I bought it online and had it shipped to the store. Got an email when it arrived, and picked it up on my way home from work.

-Mike | YMMV...
I've allowed over two hours at my local Best Buy at least twice and each time when I got there, after having to wait in the line (we have a combo 'InStore Pickup' & 'Customer Service' kiosk that usually has 5 employees milling about while one person actually helps people) they've had to go retrieve my item off the shelf.
