Best Movies of the Last Decade

Sign in to disble this ad
Simple, list what you feel were the best movies of the last decade.

A few that pop into my mind are:

Inception
Gran Torino

I'm sure there's others, but I can't think of them at the moment.
Also, feel free to state the worst movies you've seen

I agree with both of your picks.

I'll add
Shutter Island
The Departed

Youre all wrong. The only good movies were made in the 40s.

I agree with Gran Torino and Shutter Island, haven't seen The Departed or Inception yet (yeah, I know, I'll get around to it at some point).

How about:

Children of Men
Standing in the Shadows of Motown

Just off of the top of my head.

Sorry, but I don't agree with any of the picks, besides No Country For Old Men. The other films were good, (except for Boy In The Striped Pyjamas) but I don't think their worthy of the best in the decade.

There Will Be Blood
Inglourious Basterds
Slumdog Millionaire

I'll prob get some flak for this but I saw Scott Pilgrim this weekend, def one of the best from the past few years, and I watch a ridiculous amount of movies, both foreign and domestic.

Also:

There Will Be Blood
Primer
Oldboy

That's ok, I can't agree on your picking Inglorious Basterds. Didn't enjoy it at all.

There Will Be Blood was fantastic, though.

+1 for There Will Be Blood.

Havent seen Inception, but it looks good. A lot of the flicks Im seeing on here were good, some horrible, but not worthy, IMO, of 'Best Movie of the Last Decade'.

I honestly wouldn't put Inception, Gran Torino, Shutter Island, or The Departed in the Top 10s of the years they were released, let alone for the decade.

The movies that immediately came to me when I read the title of the thread were these:

City of God
Oldboy
Man on Wire
Children of Men
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

The only one that comes to mind is:

The Bucket List.

All good movies, but I would only put Man On Fire in the best of... list.

Gahhh how did I forget Inglourious Basterds?? Great movie.

I'll be honest though, I really hated the other two. Slumdog was depressing and hardly enjoyable at all, and I didn't really see the point to There Will Be Blood (not to mention the music was awful).
