Best PC desktop for the cheap

Sign in to disble this ad
It's been awhile for me so I would like some suggestions. I've been hitting up google and of course one person's favorite is another's bain and I don't know if I trust online sites that depend on ad revenue.

Looking to get a cheap pc desktop to run Win 7 with Office 2010 (Excel, PPT and Word) for work along with basic internet browsing. No gaming, no bells and whistles required other than plenty of USB ports for scanner/printer/mouse/ext hard drive, etc. I won't be burning or reading dvd's, don't need lightscribe, blu-ray, etc.

So far I'm seeing Micro Express (never heard of them which scares me) as the leader of the pack in the under $700 market.

Any suggestions, best places to buy, etc.???
Gracias

Tigerdirect, Newegg. They're the first places I think about if it's about decent and inexpensive stuff.

NewEgg is still running some of their Cyber Monday deals:

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

There's a $329 Acer box that should be fine for the uses you're talking about. 6-10 USB ports, depending on config.

I was told to wait for Jan 5th....huge price reductions coming on most existing stock. Obviously I don't need the latest and greatest. Thanks for suggestions.
