Thats cuz its been "enhanced".

If youve flown in an airplane and looked out the window then you know that the colors would not be quite as vibrant.

THis is satellite though. There may be some sort of digital enhancement done automatically.

I can't speak for the enhanced part, but having flown a lot over the years I can't help but see this and say, 'meh.'

Thats what I was saying. The quotes were a recall to the stereotypical "Enhance the image" baloney discussed in another thread.

I guess one could assume its been enhanced. Certainly the blues have. But then again, high res photos do bring out the colors. Atmospheric conditions would have to be in your favour too.

They do use high-resolution 8-band multispectral imagery from their WorldView-2 satellite. Probably a bit better than normal eye sight or digital cameras.
