Best served cold?

It's summer and even here in England the weather is warm. What do you like to eat cold this time of year?

Please avoid being predictable. Don't post "revenge" in answer to the thread title.

I keep my boxes of breakfast cereal in the refrigerator during the summer. Chilled cereal and ice cold milk make a cool snack on a hot night.

I second the cold tomato soup, I use it to dip toasted tuna sandwiches into. SO good.

@Ursus - wow. Where do you live? It's that hot that you have to refrigerate the breakfast cereal?

I'm in England, by the way. It's a nice but not too bright August morning here, about 65 Fahrenheit.

Apples. After having them refrigerated for so long, I could never go back to room temperature apples.

I actually live southern coastal New England, currently 72° w/ 92% humidity and overcast just minutes before sunrise.

The deal with the cereal is its not so much the heat as the high humidity we get off and on in the summer around here. If you dont keep foods like cookies, crackers, cereal, potato chips, etc tightly sealed its gets all soft. So I started keeping some things in the fridge to control the humidity years ago and it stuck. Some stuff ya cant keep in a fridge, like potato chips get a bit wonky in the fridge.

Oh, and bananas too! Even better in a chilly bowl of Grape Nuts!
Now I'm totally craving just that and I got no bananas, or Grape Nuts...and my milk went bad two days ago... all I got are store brand Cheerios, diet soda and a potato.

I'd like cold banana, but I love my bananas when they're still half green and half yellow (pretty much right when the peels will come off easily). A brown-spotted banana just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Blackberries and Raspberries are amazing out of the freezer.

Girl Scout thin mints, and Little Debbie swiss cake rolls are also optimal out of the freezer.

A summery type of beer.

Honestly, this could be cold, room, or hot and its incredible, an eggplant hero with fresh mozzarella, and roasted red peppers on a seeded roll. Mmm its the best when you get the perfectly made eggplant - thin sliced, no seeds, breaded nicely to the point of being a bit crisp, but still so fresh.

I'm hungry now >:0

+1 Grapes are good for that too, taste like miniature sorbets.

I like Avocado with various dressings/fillings.

Cold beer and pickled eggs.
Frosty lemonade is good, too.

Pinapple juice is a real treat when it's so cold that it's almost soupy.

I love making a meat&salad sandwich, chilling it for an hour or two, then eating it. Good times.

I'm not a fan of cold fresh fruit though; I feel that you lose some of the flavour. Cool, but not cold IMO.

I take packages of frozen orange juice concentrate (yeah in the round cardboard tubes) and pop them open on one end and eat them with a spoon... HIGHLY acidic, but my God is it delicious.

I also enjoy frozen wildberry pop tarts.

Take that can, put the contents in blender with one can if water and whip it. Amazing.
