Best store-bought hot dogs?

Sign in to disble this ad
It's lunch time, and I'm enjoying a couple of Hebrew National hot dogs. I thing they're the best dogs, no filler, taste like real meat, and they do have to answer to a Higher Authority!

What hot dog do you like?

I'm an ocassional fast-food slut w/regard to hot dogs; I grab one about every other time I'm at an outdoor thingie that has Polish sausages or hot links. Brand unimportant. Our local Costco's food court does a passable Polish.

Nathan's or Hebrew National are pretty good. Probably made of less lips and buttholes than any other brand

Aside from Smart Dogs, which are not made from lips or buttholes at all, are entirely kosher, and taste just like hotdogs.

I like Oscar Mayer Premium for the simple fact they lack nitrates. A hot dog is a hot dog to me. It's all scraps. Nathans taste better, but I don't like filling up with THAT much crap in them.

There are Grade AAA, Grade AA, and Grade A meats........

They set the Bar at S.

Should explain why they are so cheap.

I love Nathan's, but my favorite is Schneiders XXXL's and for some reason you can't find them anymore. But hotdogs absolutely MUST be barbecued or else there nasty

You're going to have to pay attention to what part of the country the respondents to this thread are in. Hot dog companies formulate the flavoring of the dogs differently for different regions of the country.
