best and worst moments of 09

Sign in to disble this ad
I know it's a bit early to do this but i was thinking today as my wife and i are getting ready for our second child to arrive any day. What were defining moments of 2009? So far the best moment of 2009 will be in a few days when our second son is born. The worst moment by far was being stuck at the top of the ferris wheel at great adventure with john mayers 'say what you need to say' playing repeatedly, despite my band breaking up earlier in this year, that was the worst moment.

09 was a huge year for me. Found out I had a hearing loss the had been with me since I was a kid but never knew about and got disqualified from the air force, which really put a chink in plans to say the least. Got laid off from my job. Crashed my first truck. Helped my uncle that broke his ribs for three months. Got accepted into college. Joined a marching band for the first time. Got a good stab of reality with loans for the first time.

I'm not sure I had any worse or bad moments. Times that were hard to go through yes, but not that they were so bad I want to go back and change them.

Why don't you join us at the Av's game Sunday night? That would hopefully qualify as a "best of" moment, unless you get in a wreck on the way.

We're also going to the Buff's game on Saturday.

I don't know about the best/worst moment, but a big congrats on the new baby! I wonder where you can get infant sized bass guitars? I sense a future TB'er on the way!

Best moment: I bought new strings around March.
Worst moment: Doc told me to give up playing for some time due to my wrist injury. That was after a week or two the best moment.

Other than that,I've been struggling with the NEVER ENDING university...

Yes,I live like a vegetable, what an exciting life huh...I'm working on photosynthesis now...

Sorry, but I have to ask. Are numbers 1 & 2 on your "worst" list in any way related?

2009 has been a pretty damned good year for me. I started dating my girlfriend at the end of January, we've been together 9 happy months now. I moved in with her/out of my parents place in September. My band is doing good. I got an SX fretless jazz that is now my main bass.

Worst moments: Having my car towed three times from my condo for forgetting to park in the garage, and that speeding ticket I got back in August. Hmmm, maybe having my divorce judgement rejected, but I went and fixed it, so if all goes well that'll jump up to another good thing in 2009!

Well, not sure about any "bests" for me. my worst would be making a dumber than dumb decision to leave Denver and move back to Nowhereville, PA.

ah dunno, 2009 was really cool for the most part..

Cool stuff:
-Passed all my AP tests (saves me a year at uni)
-starting college (soooo much better than high school)
-turned 18

bad stuff
-can't find employment
-because of ^ can't move out yet.

My best:
- Getting back into playing bass, after many years of rusting... started by accepting the invitation to join the Praise band at my Church.

My worst:
I got nothing to complain about. In the overall scheme of things, my gripes are minor.

Having my girlfriend of 5 years break up with me for one of my friends. That was definitely the worst. As for the best, I'm now dating one of her now ex friends. Karma is a b**** and I love every second of it.

worst (by a long way): family member getting very ill (but they're recovering)

2nd worst: opening a box with a much-anticipated SVT-CL inside to discover it'd been packed by one-armed monkeys

best: getting married in about six weeks, just in time to close out '09 with a big party
