well...how's that workin' out for you?

as usual, the SEC title game was the real National Championship....Notre Dame was only there because of some real luck against the 2 or 3 real teams they played. they were really only number 1 because 1) there is a bias toward them & 2) they did not play anybody.

once again, the meat grinder that is the SEC has toughened it's champion, who then goes on to smash whatever pretender comes forward...and it will always be that way until the rest of the country learns to play some DEFENSE....defense is what wins championships, not that gaudy run up & down the field offense.

Roll Tide.

+1 to all of that!

Listening to the ND robotic press conference "congratulation to Alabama they were the better team today."

Lee Corso -- "they could play these guys 15 times in a row and never beat them -- they are that much better!"

Yow. McCarron was on fire, I thought that was just as important as the running game in this rout.

And Manti T'eo--has anyone filed a missing persons report?

I hope he doesn't mind me sharing, but he actually sent me a very gracious and congratulatory PM on the victory, which I thought was cool.

We need a public showing of his contrition and humility

i'm not sure what your point is....

Alabama was clearly superior, actually FAR SUPERIOR, to ND on both sides of the ball....ND's defense was exposed and their offense was exposed...when you are that much better, you end with a score like that tonight.

i said before (in another thread) that i believed ND could not beat South Carolina, LSU or Georgia in an important game....nothing has happened since to change my mind.

ND would have been a mid card SEC team this year.

My point is that this isn't one of those times you can go "Man them Yankees and West coasters play sissy ball. Forward passin' and the such. Don't play defense like them boys in the South".

No lie. I'll bet his draft stock dropped a bit after that performance...

One of the things that people don't realize is that SEC offenses are way better than they look they just play against SEC defenses all year. This game just proved it. Notre Dame has looked like one of the toughest defenses all year playing against weak competition, but against Bama their defense looked like a sieve.

I can, and have, acknowledged last night's game and extended congratulations. There are a number of Alabama fans I have exchanged messages of congratulations with. You will not be one of them. Why?

Because all the Notre Dame losing in the world, and all of the Alabama winning in the world does not make your previous post in the NCAA thread OK. I wasn't the only one who thought so, so I'm confident I'm not being thin skinned here.

I'm OK with last night's football game, it is, after all, a football game.

You're OK with the remark you made. That is NOT a football game.

And with that, our paths part permanently.
