I turned 50 today. I don't feel any different than yesterday.

Happy birthday big guy.

I turned it a couple of months ago and learned a couple of things about turning 50:

1. It's better than the option.

2. They say that 50 is the new 49.

Enjoy your day

Wow - this now feels like the grumpy old men club.....

That's a good thing!

Thanks guys!

One thing kind of threw me though. I got a membership card for AARP. I'm not old or retired.

I know what you mean about the AARP card. It feels funny to deal with them, but there are some good deals, good for it.

I liked turning 50. Not going to die young. Not going to be famous.... might as well enjoy doing whatever I feel like doing.
When I was 19 I had a real f**k the world attitude, but I always felt a bit guilty about that. No more. I paid my dues and now I'm going to have fun. That's doesn't mean buying a Harley and having a lot of women (although that's great if you wanna). It just means taking joy in knowing who I am and doing the things that makes that moment better.

Welcome to the fine side of life.

LOL... I got mine last year as well. I felt like sending it back.... given the "retirement plan" for jazz bassists, I should just have them send it to my funeral.

Happy birthday, islander.
