Big Mac...Rant

ok...as with most of my rants...this one is small in the overall scheme of things...but it still bugs me.

i used to love big macs...so much so, that i ate about one a day for several years....i know, i know..."good going, Dave, we'll get a plumber's friend to help you clean out your arteries"....no argument

but about 15 years ago, i stopped eating at McDonald's almost totally...about the same time they changed the big mac, as it turns out.

what bugged me then and still bugs me, was that they stopped putting cheese on both patties and only put one piece of cheese on the entire sandwich

i mean, talk about cynically saying "screw the customers" and going for the bucks....i imagine they have saved a pretty penny over the years by doing this, but they lost me as a customer...admittedly, not JUST for that reason, but that was the last straw.

anyway, rant over...it doesn't matter anyway...just wanted to vent

any thoughts?

I think your life must be pretty devoid of conflict if you feel the need to rant about the Big Mac. I salute you!

I feel less offended by that and more offended by the fact that they try to justify the McRib every couple years...

Are you also furious that the sesame seed buns don't have as many sesame seeds as they used to?

I suggest you write a strongly worded letter to Ronald McDonald expressing your displeasure with your dining experience.

i used to love Burger King, but what happened to the Whopper?!! the flame broiled patty, pickles, lettuce, hold the onions, with cheese! what a master piece.

THEN,... oneday i realized,.. the stuff at BK was making me sick to my stomach! it didn't matter what it was. the chicken sandwiches, fish burgers, and the awesome Whopper started giving me painful gas and cramping almost exactly one hour after mastication. i mean, at least, Jack in the Box didn't hurt until defecation!

WHAT GIVES, Murder King?!!

I feel ya Dave. Sometimes I like to get a sandwich out of the vending machine (AKA: the wheel of death) at work. A few months ago a new company took control of the vending machines, and they put cheese on only a few items. I mean a meatball sub with no cheese. Really? What gives?

Nothing nutritionally, but it's considered taboo.

I love the Big Mac and it is a screw the customer attitude we have to deal with or choose to go without. There is a reason we don't buy half gallon things anymore. The price stayed the same, but the container is on 58 ounces.. Same price, less product. It is happening all over the consumer market. It is a slap in the face that we all have to accept this or give these things up.

Your local BK probably needed a visit from the sanitation department.

Ive been wondering that myself, with all the recent outbreaks of "OMG, horsemeat!".
I think the biggest thing is that its being sold as "beef".

As for the Big Mac, I stopped eating at McD's well over 10 years ago. I never cared for the Big Mac anyway (the extra bread in the middle is just to help fill you up.

Nothing really. Not if you also eat cows, pigs and sheep.

The problem is being sold something based on a lie.

Which I do. And yes, I can certainly see the problem with false advertising.

Mislabelling is part of it, the more important part (which most don't seem interested in) is the quality control of the meat. The horsemeat entering the food chain may contain chemicals which are harmful and/or banned from meats used for human consumption.
