| You do know that the Big Sisters are new for BioShock 2, they weren't around for the first one.
Anyways, extremely excited about it. It'll be hard to top the original, as it was one of the few perfect games I've ever played. The main villain (By that I mean Ryan, not Fontaine) looks to be as impressive and enigmatic, but on the opposite end of the philosphical spectrum. That was a huge bonus for me, the way Ryan was subtly but unquestionably compared to Ayn Rand, as well as some other writers' ideas of the perfect society/man. (Dostoevsky comes to mind) The sheer intelligence and allusion that game had is staggering, you just don't get that often anymore. Then there was the incredible, epic scope of Rapture itself. Who wasn't wowed when you caught your first glimpse from the Bathysphere, or any time you looked through the window? I could go on and on about the incredible depth of BioShock, but it'd take me way too long.
I really, really, really want BioShock 2 to live up to the original, I'm just worried it won't, that it can't. I was a little worried when I heard the main character was going to be a Big Daddy, an odd choice for sure. However, it does look like a few old characters are coming back, Tennenbaum included. I'm hoping her backstory gets explored further, and even that she ends up being the Fontaine of the new game. |
