Birthday Present and Wonder Woman

Sign in to disble this ad
ok well the wife said she wanted something outside the box for her birthday...

she has often told me as a child she used to run about the house in her Wonder Woman Underoos (google it) and sing the Wonder Woman theme as she watched the series (circa 1976) so my son and i are in Best Buy scratching our heads and we notice that the TV series is now on DVD...

so guess what the wife got?

I remember watching this show when i was a kid....but wow is it really cheesy. Don't get me wrong Lynda Carter looks great in the costume....but the acting, the props, the story lines....OMG, but we did have fun munching popcorn and laughing our collective backsides off....

funny how things seem so different from age 8 to 41......looking back...

I hear you!
That's another reason that I like Youtube. Once in a while an old show from when I was a kid will pop into my head so I'll youtube it and there will usually be a clip or two available. Looking back, those 70's shows were corny as hell... I loved them though.
Shazam, Run Joe Run, Land of the Lost... Saturday morning perfection.

Now they're remaking Land of The Lost, from the previews it looks cornier than the original one.

I thought you were going to say you got her a Wonder Woman costume, expecting to have an exciting night at home, and instead she got PO'd and made you sleep on the couch.

Sounds like your plan was better.

Man... is it wrong that I probably would have gone this route instead of the DVD's? Also, is it worse that this exactly would have been the outcome?

You should have also gotten her a Wonder Woman costume and presented it to her after she was all laughing and happy and in a great mood from watching the DVDs for an even better end to an already great night. She might have even tied you up with her Golden Lasso and forced you to tell the truth. (*)

(*) Stolen unashamedly from the Rodney Dangerfield classic "Back To School" since it fit the situation so perfectly.

I remember watching Battlestar Galactica back in the day which was cutting edge for special effects and production. I think kids in high school can produce better quality sci-fi episodes now. Same with Incredible Hulk.

Best. Theme. Lyrics. Ever.
In her satin tights -
Fighting for her rights -
And the red, white and blue.
