Bit of a social problem...need advice.

My flatmates are absolutely great people but as you can imagine, we find little problems.

Recently one of my flatmates and a good friend came to me and told me that another of my flatmates had been slagging us all off whilst talking on her mobile phone to someone, and my friend had overheard her.

In the conversation this flatmate had supposedly called the rest of the people in the house 'like animals' and that she 'couldn't bear us'. My friend told me that it was because the flat was, in this girl's opinion. messy (I am the only person who tidies on a regular basis) and she'd also had said things about my bassplaying in the house (she hates my bass)

Should I confront this person about what she'd said or just leave it?

just leave it. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. It would cause more harm then good to start something.

I think it's a bit low for her to bitch behind our backs. It stinks of cowardice and dishonesty.

Yea leave it alone. As far as "slagging" goes, it sounds pretty tame to me.

Now, if your roommate decides to get drunk every night, set his alarm clock to go off every five minutes starting at midnight so he'll remember to call his girlfriend--although he just ends up sleeping through it--and then curses at you uncontrollably when you tell him to turn the %#^$ thing off...until your only recourse is to drag him out of bed and throw him off a second story balcony into the parking lot. Then you have a problem.

Leave it.

You're just flatmates in college. You don't have to be friends.

If I know one thing about women though. It's impossible for you to simply leave it alone. Just bring it up and get yo biatch on. Smack each other around if it comes to that. Maybe she'll just leave on her own, but more than likely it will get much worse before it has a remote possibility of getting better. This way you can hate each other for the rest of your lives.

Try to bring up the topics she was talking about and not her conversation on the phone casually and ask her if she's fine with the way things are.

If she's not willing to tell you when you ask yet complains about it on the phone to others there's nothing you can do, let her complain all she wants as long as you don't have to hear it.

Gonna give a +1 to Herrlster's and Croox's sentiments. IIRC you got into beef with your folks for your bass playing.

You might wanna consider not playing so loud.

You're taking a very minor thing and trying to blow it up into some huge problem. Oh wait, you always do that.

Have you tried throwing up on her? That might work.
