So I just drove by the local Best Buy and there's a guy camping out there. Black Friday is in five days! I asked some people and they said he's been there for the past few days too. What is the point of camping for over a week when you could go a day or two in advance and STILL get first in line?
Some people are ridiculous. |

I went into Best Buy ONCE on Black Friday for a printer/scanner. Never again. Took me two hours to save $60. Not worth my time.

Some people are ridiculous. | Even more ridiculous... people who camp out at all. I have a friend who works at Best Buy, their policy is as follows:
Buy that big screen TODAY, at full price. Bring in your receipt within 30 days of purchase and receive sale price. Buy Nov 1st, bring receipt in Nov 25th, get sale price without waiting in crazy lines (aside from the one to get your refund),

| | | I honestly think the whole Black Friday thing is crazy. The opportunity cost to me is not worth it to save a few bucks on Christmas gifts. I only buy gifts for a few people for Christmas, so it's not a big deal to me to go shopping a week before the holidays. My favorite Simpsons Christmas episode is the one with Funzo (i.e., the Furby parody), because it so accurately illustrates how crazy people get with the consumerism surrounding Christmas. Quote:

I wouldn't camp out for concert or movie tickets either. More power to those who do, I guess.
