and at school i am surrounded by a bunch of very intelligent, motivated, dream-chasing young people less than half my age, and i can't help but think about how the vast majority of them are gonna be washed up, bored, uninspired cubicle jockeys bickering about hr memos or having the social highlight of their lives be the discussion around the coffee machine about whatever passes for prime time tv entertainment by the time they reach my age, just like most of the folks i went to college with the first time are now.
