I need a Tuxedo for a recurring gig on trombone. It's been at least a decade since I even looked at what is out there. I know the first step would be to get measured for the appropriate fit. but what else do I need to know?

maybe I should have asked the DB side?

Google "eugene levy". His taste in tuxes has always been impeccable and inspiring.

If you don't buy them often (doesn't sound like it):

1. Simple black
2. Single breasted
3. Satin lapels and buttons
4. Simple dress shirt - pleated wing collar is the most common, but you can move past this to a pealted front normal collar now - wing collars are a bit old school.
5. Black single bow tie - you need confidence to pull off any other type of box tie

If all else fails, read this:

Designer fashion for men*|*MR PORTER

I wouldn't buy from there - its a great website but its pricey!
