OK. So the seven year blogiversary for
Sonicfrog.net is less than a month away. I started mine a bit before it suddenly became the "hip" thing to do. Made quite a few blog-pals (a term I use to reflect the similar long distance friendships developed between pen-pals). I started mine as a way to improve my writing, spelling and communicative skills....
Especially yhte spellling!
But in the last couple of years, many of those who had started at around the same time I did have left the blogosphere. A couple of friends, including one who wrote a great music based blog, have passed away. But many more have simply stopped doing it.
Though I have been linked a number of times by top tier blogs, including Instapundit, Andrew Sullivan, Gay Patriot, and Ann Althouse, due to my normal minuscule readership, I have more than one thought about shutting down the blog and quitting. I was this close to doing so. I could have generated a following by concentrating on politics or controversial subject... Be a Rabble-Rouser! But I couldn't do that because I am not controversial and am not willing to put out a product simply to create wave. Since it was obvious after a few years that I was probably always going to be a tiny tiny fish in a small pond, I wondered if writing my blog was worth the time. I have since come to realize I really enjoy writing. I also now am quite content with having light readership. I don't get many trolls, and I don't feel pressured to write of current events or politics simply to have new stuff on my page and placate my readership. I write and post things because I like to do it..
So, who is still with me in the blogosphere?
PS. I have two blogs, the main one
Sonicfrog.Net, and
AlteredNews.Com.
