Adjacent thread titles:

"Body parts sold to kabob stand"

"So my girlfriend is becoming a vegetarian"

I think that about sums it up for Monday 11/16/09.

Copy and paste for preservation:

"MOSCOW - Russian police have arrested three homeless people suspected of eating a 25-year-old man they had butchered and selling other bits of the corpse to a local kebab house.

Suspicions were raised when dismembered parts of a human body were found near a bus stop in the outskirts of the Russian city of Perm, 720 miles east of Moscow.

Three homeless men with previous criminal records have been arrested on suspicion of setting upon a foe with knives and a hammer before chopping up his corpse to eat, local investigators said in a statement.

"After carrying out the crime, the corpse was divided up: part was eaten and part was also sold to a kiosk selling kebabs and pies," the prosecutor's main investigative unit for the Perm region said.

It was not immediately clear from the statement if any of the corpse had been sold to customers."

Russia? I suspect the criminals won't be receiving a lenient sentence.

I might have had something similar in Chicago about 15 years ago. A buddy and I bought "Meat on a stick" from some dude in the parking lot of Soldier Field after a Dead show.

He had quite the ingenious set up: He had a shopping cart full of hot coals and the kebobs were pushed through the wire mesh above the coals. I have no idea what it was that we ate that night (We did witness the dude sell vegetarian burritos getting rousted from his VW Minibus shortly before we found the meat on a stick guy.) but it was pretty damn tasty!

how do you know the meat you just ate wasn't human, or dog, or cat, or pigeon?

how do you know?

and didn't that killer they found recently in ohio, used to offer BBQ to neighbors?

Pork is supposed to be a pretty good analog for human meat.

A take-away food shop that serves kebabs and other Turkish fare - very popular in Europe (especially as post-pub food).

I always thought a doner kebab on its spit kinda looked like a fat guy's thigh...

Reminds me of the old joke about a foreigner in Central Park walks up to a Hot Dog stand and hands over a buck and gets his bun and wiener. He unwraps it and gets back in line, and when it is his turn he says "Please sir, another part of the dog".

That's why the Dracos (reptile people) created Pigs. No Joke. That's a fact. Although, I doubt anyone here will believe it.
