I (For some reason) get up every morning at 4:30 am, walk six blocks to a local gas station, buy coffee, and read on a bench until 7 am. (I know, I live a very exciting life.)
Anyway, I get my coffee, sit down, and begin to read. A while later I made conversation with a few bikers. We were talking about the band "The Zombies". They stood around talking, and I continued reading.
Later, another Biker came by and parked near 10 feet away from me. Except he was the kind of "I hope people notice me" kind of biker. He was just obnoxious. He had a blue bandana around his head, a blue bandana around his face. Two white bandanas around his ankles. And a red one around his wrist. He was wearing a new leather jacket, sleeveless shirt, Levis, and Leather assless chaps.
"Can I trust you 'round my bike, boy?" he said.
I continued to read.
"Boy, can I trust you around my bike!"
"Yeah" I replied.
The other bikers were ignoring him, and carried on with their conversation. And of course he interupted it.
"Yeah I'm new to ridin', but I feel like I have been ridin' my entire life." He told them.
They nodded, and an uncomfortable silence followed. He was soon to break it.
"Yeah, I got one hell of a deal on this bike. I paid nearly a third of what it is actually worth. Nothing like riding a '68."
"It's a '93." Someone said.
"Believe me, it is a '68." he replied.
"No." Someone said firmly "It's a '93."
"Oh..." he said.
He quickly put on his helmet and rode away to a restaurant across the street, stopped, and put his head down for a good ten minutes.
I'd probably do the same if I were to find that out about one of my basses.
