Boston Peeps - need a reference

There's a club in Boston that wants to book my Judas Priest tribute band. They want us to do the gig for door, which may or may not be ok with us. What I'd like to know is exactly how packed could this place be in January, and what a reasonable cover charge would be. We've been assured that the place is usually rockin'. I'd like to hear from somone, on the street there, who knows the real story. Anyone on here have any experience with this club, good or bad. I'd be interested in your feedback. Thanks.............

Crap, forgot to post the link.....

What club? If you're good, and you think you can generate a crowd, and with the proper promotion, anything is possible. It really depends on the venue, location, date, and the line-up if there are other bands.

That's down in/near Kenmore Sq. The colleges will be on Christmas break. Here is something I found on The Noise. Sounds like you need to bring a PA...

Ask to see the document that has the maximum capacity allowed from the fire dept. That'll give you an idea of the max you could get in there.

Copperfields is decent, gets a pretty good crowd going in the summers, not so sure in the winter. You don't have to bring your own PA, they have a large sound sytem there and small stage off to the end of the bar.

If you read the other post the guy who said they had to bring their PA hasn't gigged since 2003.

We played this summer, decent sound, ok but not great. There was a fair turnout but there was also a sox game. I've only been there a few other times, usually a moderate turnout, appeared to be a mix of 50/50 regulars and people there to see the bands.

Oh my god, I had a weekly gig at Copperfields for the Winter/Spring of 1983! The stage was so small I had to stand next to the drummer behind his hihat, & our guitarist had one foot on the stage and his other foot on a couple of milk crates stacked next to the stage!

But it was always packed.
