it was good... though I need to rewatch the last couple episodes of last season because I can't quite remember some of the details.

I did. I've watched this show since episode 1, season 1. Tonight's episode was a great start to another roller coaster.

I was catching up on all the seasons, but for whatever reason, I stopped halfway through this last season.

The show is incredible! There was just something about Brian Cranston. All I ever knew him for was Hal from Malcolm in the Middle, and then it's just like night and day. He's incredible in the series.

Gus is THE MAN! I like how he reminds everybody who's in control. Dude ruled that whole episode and spoke only one line

Gus kind of scares the hell out of me; but not as much as Walter does.

Yeah, it was a good episode. I liked the flashback to Gayle, basically saying "We need to learn what this guys formula" 96% pure already, wanting to take it up to 99%. Too bad it cost him his life.

For a second my thought was "why?" Then after thinking for two seconds it made a lot of sense. He certainly seemed a little more than just a "looky-loo".

I think that was more shocking - seeing a shocked look on his face.

I had high hopes for the season premiere and I was not disappointed.

Last season, I thought they got off to a very slow start and took a while for things to get moving, so hopefully this season will take a different approach.

Well, you have to think about how much they had to set up last season. Now that all the intimate information is visible, they can really start to mess with our heads now. This season is going to be fantastic; so many people are going to die.

I will say one thing about the writing - it makes time stand still in a good way. Unlike some shows that are just filler or follow a set pattern in every episode, no two episodes of Breaking Bad have used the Opening, Conflict, Solution format (think Scrubs).

Another great thing was season 2 and how the plane crash cleanup was injected at random episode beginnings.

Walt and Jesse are now fully aware that they are living on borrowed time. Jesse: "We're on the same page now."

I see a Walt versus Gus showdown looming ahead.

And why is Hank so fascinated with crystals? Bed-ridden detective? His obsession seems greater than ever.
